Need ventilation in kitchen

I don’t know how much longer we can keep doing this, really.

I know that we’ve been trying to make the best of a very bad situation, but at some point we’re going to have to make some immense changes in order to get through this in one piece.

I never would have thought that this would become such a sizable problem when we first noticed the issue, but it totally makes sense in hindsight that we would find ourselves here. I’m talking about having a kitchen with no ventilation system. You see, my boyfriend and I love to cook together and make quite elaborate meals each night. This is great, except for the amount of indoor air pollution that it causes each night and our complete lack of outgoing air flow. Every time we fire up a pan, there is so much smoke and spicy air contamination that takes place. Even with the little overhead fan turned on high, there’s no way to remove the toxic fumes and heat from the kitchen while we cook. The fire detectors are soon set off as the smoke overflows out of the room and the air particulates agitate the air sensors. The entire house rings out, with terrible beeping emanating from every single room. We run around the house in the hot, thick air, desperately trying to shut off the fire detectors as our poor old dog howls his brains out. When the smoke finally settles and the air quality returns to a state of subpar warmth, we can finally stop plugging our ears and try to eat dinner. Of course, by that point all the kitchen fumes have also filled the whole house with the smell of thick, stinky sulfur from our vegetables. There’s nothing like dining in heat and fart smells thanks to our lack of kitchen ventilation.
